What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember information about your visit.
Cookies we use
Safeguard uses essential cookies only — cookies that are strictly necessary for the platform to function. We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies. Because no non-essential cookie is ever set, we do not need to show a cookie consent banner.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| appSession | Auth0 session management — keeps you logged in | Session / 24 hours |
| __Host-next-auth.csrf-token | CSRF protection — prevents cross-site request forgery attacks | Session |
Analytics
We measure aggregate site traffic and usage — for example, total page views — using first-party, server-side, cookieless analytics that we run ourselves. This analytics:
- sets no cookie and reads nothing already stored on your device
- does not identify you or any individual visitor
- does not store your IP address or browser user-agent
- does not track you across other websites
- is never shared with third-party advertising networks
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or advertising cookies. Because this analytics collects no personal data and sets no cookie, it does not require your consent under UK/EU cookie law (PECR).
How to manage cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the platform.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if we introduce new cookies. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
